I <3 Stewart Lee. The more miserable he is, the happier I am. He's the thinking man's idiot.
Anyway, his show Comedy Vehicle show started tonight on BBC 2 at 10pm. catch it on iplayer if you missed it.

I'm playing catch-up a little bit. I bought his first DVD less than a year ago and it was amazing. I bought and watched his "41st best stand-up" DVD only last week, (again, amazing) and his show last night was just as good, if not better. You've really got to stay with him when it comes to his style/delivery, but it totally pays off if you're willing to join him. I was quite surprised by the directness of his "analysis" of current media. I think that's what made it brilliant.
I do like Kevin Eldon, but the sketches didn't do much for me.

I wasn't the feeling the second episode as much. I think it's because I was expecting something really cutting. I guess Brooker is still the champion cynic when it comes to the telly-box.
Again, the sketches just re-iterate what Stewart says, (thus rendering them kind of pointless, but hey, the channel 4 sludge cannon made me laugh a little... even though I think channel 4 is supporting and creating some of the best stuff at the moment).

Yeah, it wasn't as good this week. I don't mind the sketches, they remind me of Dave Allen.
I like how Stewart Lee hits home a point to the point of tedium because of his utter contempt for it (ie Only Fools And Horses at the end).
Also his March of the Mallards bit wasn't as funny as his regular stand up where he swears. I think he felt he had to hold back a little because it's BBC 2.

Yeah.... I suppose.
There's loads more to come. I'm sure it'll be a DVD purchase as well, (even though it's fairly topical).

I think tonight's episode was better then last week's. The one legged ballerina sketch was funny, but the village people sketch I didn't find funny at all (though I saw what he was trying to do, just didn't execute it that well).

Enjoyed episode three, but most of the material was from his last stand up DVD. I think there's been repeat material in every episode, (and why not). The extra funny element to this series, (compared to the stand up shows) is that it's set in an audience + TV viewers environment... as Lee gladly makes us aware of frequently.
Again, sketches Ok, but I'd rather have 30mins of stand up.

Yeah, I would rather have 30 mins of stand up. I still think the one legged ballerina sketch was genius.
And I loved his Finsbury Park Weightwatchers bit.

It was good to see him push the boundries so much on the pc subject, it's such a fine line to walk in the public arena
