I've been listening to some of the new Prodigy tracks, and am I the only one that thinks The Omen sounds like something Victory Pill might have made?

I didn't know this, but they've had Dave Grohl drum on parts of their album (Run with the Wolves). That guy gets more places then Jason Bowld does.

It annoys me that people don't know who Jason Bowld is. INJUSTICE!
I think I wrote a bit about the album on the other forum, so I won't harp on about it again.
In terms of the sound, I think it's something to do with audio technology/MIDI patches/effects and sound. It's not like it's a new thing, (we can recall a time/decade with most music that involves something more that just acoustic/traditional instruments).
I think Victory Pill, The Prodigy, Drawbacks, The Qemists, Pendulum, Evol Intent, Hyper etc. all have some similar sounds and styles. I'm not really one to argue who came up with what first. Usually the "first" isn't the best as they've tread new ground. Pioneers, granted, but not always masters. There's a progressive blend where you could also encompass Celldweller, Innerpartysystem, BT etc., but then am I just making a list of electronic-fusion (rock-on-trance-on-metal-on-drum'n'bass-on-punk-on-breakbeat-on-your mum's face) artists? The answer is yes.
I think, (rightfully) Pitchshifter claim to one of the few originals when it comes to this kind of stuff, but I don't put them in the group above. And I don't really know why. I'm not really saying "Oh, Pitchshifter, they're in a league of their own they're so amazing!!!"... I just think they're not really like this new wave of electronic music. Hard to describe.
I'd say Nine Inch Nails are similar. Hard to really recommend something that sounds like NIN. I've heard people say "Ministry" and "Marilyn Manson" and "Combichrist" ... and that makes little sense to me.
Pitchshifter's the same. Off the top of my head I'd say Gravity Kills, but even that doesn't seem right.
So, with all that in mind, I really do wonder what Pitchshifter will sound like this year... but I'm sure they'll be another topic about it soon enough.
On topic: Invaders Must Die is pretty effin' cool. Stand out tracks: Thunder and Take Me to The Hospital.
