Static-x are back....New album cult of static. A Friend of mine sent me a few tracks, and from what i can gather it's crap.(No surprise there then.) It kind of all sounds the same......As if it's one song. Odd. Very poppy. Erm thats all i can say.

Wisconsin - Amazing Machine - Brilliant Shadow Zone - Great Start A War - Ok, (some standout tracks) Cannibal - Not very good Cult Of Static...
Well, I bought it and it's ready and waiting to be listened to, but I have little faith based on their trend. I actually downloaded Cannibal to trial it and I'm still unsure as to whether I should buy it, (if I can find it cheap I might). So why I just pre-ordered and bought Cult Of Static I don't know.

I didn't know you dig Static-X Adam, Wisconsin is a really good album. Very Industrial. Machine was Ok everything else I really don't dig.

Static-X, (in general) are quality, but I think they've lost their way. I think they've convinced themselves that they're some big meaty death metal band, but in the process lost that progressive-epic sound that came with the trance/electronic influence. A lot of their new stuff, (some on Start A War and onwards) sounds like simple mechanical heavy metal riffs... and the vox just get dull really quickly. Whenever there is an inject of trance/electronics it sounds forced or just laid on over the top. God knows how they sold Cannibal as a return to their Wisconsin sound.
Listened to Cult Of Static today and overall it's not too bad, but it's nowhere near their first two albums. Also, sound/production-wise the guitars are awful. Cannibal and Cult Of Static sound like good demos. I don't understand how they can hear it and approve it as a final piece of work. There's a fair few forgettable tracks on Cult Of Static and I was ready to slate it, but further into the album the tracks start to stand out a bit more. I'm hoping it'll grow on me in time.

Yes i thought it was just the quality of the MP3's i had but it has a demo quality to it. Kind of sounds garage recording rather than studio....
