So let's make this a sticky and discuss about this one.
What would you like to hear on this new album?
I expect they have Machine working with them again, he knows how to make them sound really good.
I hope the never use Dave Jerden again, he is an amazing Producer, but even though I love DEVIANT it doesn't sound that good compated with .com or PSI, you know?

Yeah, I don't think they will use Jerden. He's got a respected name but I think they said he didn't know how to work with sample based music.
If they don't use Machine, I can see them using Rick Parkhouse who produced the second T.I.M. record with Jason.
I'm forcing myself not to expect too much of this alvum so I'm more likely to be pleasantly surprised then bitterly diappointed! ;D

Im still not really getting my hopes up on this album. I know it has been talked about for a while but has there ever been any real solid evidence that it is real and not all fantasy? Has JS ever admitted to be working on something on the other board?

Has JS ever admitted to be working on something on the other board? Yes. We've even heard new material in the form of "Messiah". There's a radio rip of it (may have even been a rip I did!) on Youtube.

I thought Messiah was off of the EP issued at the last gig and did'nt necessarily represent something that will be on a new full length

One thing I know, I don't think Pitchshifter is going to do another .com/deviant/PSI/etc why would they rip their own sound? If you know what I mean. I think they will go beyond that. I do think they will keep using samples/drum n bass drums etc.

PSI started utilising bits of trip-hop and other genres.
They could pull a Prodigy and take bits from previous albums and jumble it all together.

i think it is a given that it will have its own unique sound. everything from infotainment? and beyond all had a very distinct sound all on its own. with that being said, i imagine a new album sounding closest to "Burning out of Control" off of the None for All and All for One EP. Aggressive, still some sample usage.

JS tried different things vocal-wise like the "yelling" stuff which I loved. Messiah definitely sounds a bit as Burning out of control but to me the "all for one.." sound is past tense even though sounds fresh. Knowing the PSI-Evolution they may want to make this record sound like nothing we have heard before.

'Burning Out Of Control' is pretty cool, but I know they can do better, (I think I've said before that 'Burning...' just sounded like JS and not Pitchshifter). Messiah I'm happy with. There's hints of TIM and Dohney in there. Hopefully they'll inject just a bit more electronic/experimental/processed elements.
I don't know if they'll get Machine in on this one. Didn't JS hint that he was gonna have a crack at it? Aren't Mark and Jason pros when it comes to studio mixing/mastering? Do they actually need anyone? '20 Years...' feels like it's something different compared to a typical album.

I've been listening to Messiah all day. Any one want to toss an mp3 file of the track my way?
Also, am I the only one that is kind of hoping the album has a cooler name than "20 years..." sounds more of like a compilation cd/dvd than a new album to me
